Borealis String Quartet with Pianist Jean-Francois Latour

The Borealis String Quartet has established itself as an ensemble praised for its dynamic performances, passionate style, and refined, musical interpretations. The Borealis has performed to critical acclaim and sold out concert halls throughout Canada. Formed in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia in the fall of 2000 and mentored by Professor Andrew Dawes, former first violinist of the Tokyo and Orford String Quartets, the Borealis is Quartet-in-Residence at the University of British Columbia where its members give regular master classes and teach chamber music.

Jean-Francois Latour
A vibrant young Canadian pianist, Jean-Francois Latour has established a reputation as a poetic and imaginative artist with brilliant technique.  His rapidly growing prominence on the international scene has brought engagements in Europe, US, Canada, and Asia.


The Tuscaloosa concert will feature Beethoven's Quartet, Op. 95, in F-minor; Brahms' Piano Quartet, Op. 25, in G-minor; and Schumann's Piano Quartet, Op. 44, in E-flat major.
