Paris Piano Trio Time: 4:00 P.M., Sunday, November 6, 2005 Moody Music Building, University of Alabama These three great French musicians (Régis Pasquier, violin; Roland Pidoux, cello; Jean-Claude Pennetier, piano) have been connected by their love of chamber music since they were prize-winning students together at the Paris Conservatory. All are now professors at the Conservatory, and each enjoys a solo career of almost legendary proportions. As a trio they express simultaneously their musical individuality and their total musical rapport. The group has won acclaim throughout Europe and North America. Their recordings of works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Brahms, Schubert, and Chausson are familiar to listeners worldwide. For their Tuscaloosa concert, the Trio will perform Faure’s Trio in D minor, Op. 120; Ravel’s Trio in A minor; and Chausson’s Trio in G minor, Op.3.
